For anyone born in the mid 1970's in America...

Maybe there are some vintage commercials on YouTube.

I say "move over, bacon" to my kids all of the time. Along with countless other old timey commercial references.

Good Times
All in the Family
Three's Company
Rockford Files

1980s
Magnum PI
St Elsewhere (great granddaddy to every medical show on TV now)
LA LAW (great granddaddy to every law show on TV now)
Family Ties
Cosby Show (yes I know, but the cast was wonderful)
Cheers

1990s
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Melrose Place
Friends
Simpsons
X-Files
Seinfeld

This list is pretty much spot-on. Throw in a few random MacGyvers, The A-Team, Alf. And the "very special episode" of Dif'rent Strokes just for laughs. Ironically, the star of that show died of the show's title.....a Stroke.

Check out the John Hughes directed teen movies.
Sixteen Candles
The Breakfast Club
Ferris Buellers Day Off

If you have not seen the movie Clueless, do it!

And my high school friends endlessly referenced Saturday Night Live and In Living Color sketches, I'm sure you can find compilations of the funniest ones.

Thanks for taking us down memory lane, OP!

Best. Sitcom. Ever.

Trivia: Where Janet Jackson made her acting debut. And also received her very first kiss courtesy of Ralph Carter.

Also Good Times is Puff Daddy's all-time favorite T.V. program.

Weren't never no good times on that show. Mommy burned me with an iron--good times! I sleep on a couch with my brother--good times! I'm a Junior Warlord--good times!

Go watch My So-Called Life! Now!

Also Thirtysomething, though I was born in 74 and didn't appreciate it until it was already off the air and on reruns.

OP, I am your exact age and I agree that a lot of these shows and movies are fun for a walk down memory lane (Good Times!) But for people referencing things in current conversion, I'd stick with Seinfeld, Friends, Saved by the Bell, Beverly Hills 90210/Melrose Place and SNL for TV and all of the aforementioned classic 80s movies. I feel like people reference funny movie lines/scenes much more often than TV but it depends on your crowd.

Diet Coke wasn't until the 80s.

The '70s was all about TAB (for beautiful people...). And maybe the sugar-free Country Time Lemonade (tastes like that good ol' fashioned lemonade).
