God men become such babies and wusses when they fall ill.
And they milk it for as long as they can. |
| So glad my dh doesn't do this!! |
| Moment of gratitude for being a lesbian. When I'm sick, my wife makes me soup and fluffs my pillows. When she's sick, I do the same. And neither of us malingers. |

I'm OP. When I'm sick, DH does take care of me. But that's like, 1 day. He was great throughout most of my pregnancy. We're on day 7 now, and I've gotten him to return to regular service, mostly.
It just got in my craw that he was working late AND whining about being sick, leaving me to do my job and everything else. Venting felt so good - and reading some of the stuff on here made me laugh. Glad to know I'm not the only one! |
+1. |
| My mom and MIL both say that men are the weaker sex when it comes to things like colds and healing. They say I should just deal with it because that's the way it is. What a load of crap. Woman up men! |
| Every time our son is sick, my husband thinks he's sick too. Every time. It's ridiculous. Last time ds had a stomach virus, dh came home from work and said "My stomach is feeling funny, too." Then he was off to bed until morning. This happens every damn time. Once about a year ago I was super sick and took a 2 hour nap around dinner time. DH had to do dinner and dishes for himself and our kid. Next night, I asked him to clean up the kitchen (after I made dinner) and he had a hissy fit because he had to do dishes two nights in a row. If he's keeping score like that, he should see that I've skipped out on chores once for illness this year, while he's done it many many times. |

When my dh was a kid, his mom made him stay in bed when he was sick. No tv. He wasn't allowed to leave bed except for the bathroom. She brought him food and drink. Making sick days no fun was presumably so he'd be averse to pretending to be sick. I have to wonder if it conditioned him to behave the same as an adult.

Not the flu, but after spending countless days in the hospital and undergoing emergency surgery with intubation, and feeling like complete crap for 2 months, my husband is making a big deal out of his routine colonoscopy prep, and the fact that breakfast this morning was the last solid meal he could eat until his procedure tomorrow afternoon. Dude, you can still eat clear soup. And after tomorrow it will be over. You don't have a chronic disease. Ugh. |
His mistake is thinking you actually care. He should realize by and large you don't |
