Something warm and some cold hard cash. That's what she likes.
This seems to have mixed reviews - I'd like to do something like this for my in laws but am hesitant about the tech aspect. We will be together for Xmas but not at their house - could I set it up for them there and then it would easily work at their house? And then DH and I and his sister could upload kid pics etc that would show up on it at their house in FL? |
Nothing.
Same here. I'll brain storm with him if he asks, but we buy our own parents their gifts. She's getting a raised garden bed for the new retirement house. |
There are tons of cute things you can buy on Etsy. I got my MIL a personalized silver key chain with names of her grand kids on it.
We got MIL an inexpensive tablet and pre-installed it with video chat for skype with grandkids
Costco fruit baskets start at $30
DH is responsible for buying gifts for his family. I love my husband but I'm not his secretary. I have a full-time job and my own household to run. I'm not taking on any extra stress.
Nothing directly from me. MIL is DH's responsibility.
bupkis.
Wait till you DILs get old and become MiLs yourself.
MIL started dating again after FIL passed. I went to Costco and bought her a 128 pack Trojan
My MIL is happy getting a nice calendar every Christmas - I think I lucked out, lol. I got something different one year and she said "Oh, but I love the calendars". And she wasn't being sarcastic. She always puts it in the same spot and jots everything on it.
I made her a photo calendar of the kids and took the kids to paint her pottery. I've been helping the kids make her ornaments and we bought her an iPhone and case for it. More than we typically do but she's had a rough year.
We're getting her a new garage door opener (DH handles the presents for her, though he usually writes her a check).
