How do I explain the recount to my six-year-old daughter?

Speak for yourself. Tell your daughter they are trying to see what the real numbers are.nobody anticipated to overturn the election. Just to see how far in our business Russia is...
Or just get her some Russian lessons.

You're a troll.

Your man Trump thinks that millions of illegal immigrants voted in the election, helping HRC win the popular vote. Maybe explain that to your daughter and assure her that the recount is to make sure - what do you Trumpies call them - oh, yes, illegal bad hombres, didn't get to vote.

Because your 5 year old has sane, mentally stable parents. Most dcum children don't, unfortunately.

Tell her our new POTUS will drain the swamp so we will not have to waste more time and money on stupidity! As Hillary said herself "it is a threat to democracy".......

As if OP ... at least make your pretend DD a believable age

Pretty sure she'll have even more trouble explaining the incoming cabinet. Gators, swamp rats, and a creepy old man in a fan boat telling you to follow him.

The fact that you would post something about this says more about you -- and your most likely childless state of affairs -- then it does anything else. Good grief. I asked an honest question here and the deluge of cynicism has been odd. Anyway, I'm disengaging from the election. What I tried to make a civics lesson is no longer worth looking at.

I voted for Clinton and I am part Latino. So you are wrong (I had to respond to this reckless accusation).

That's what I'd say, OP.

My 6 and 8 year old don't know anything about any of this. They know there was a presidential election, Daddy and Mommy wanted Clinton to win. She didn't. Trump will be president.

That is all they know and all they need to know at this point.

One lesson already learned is that we need to get rid of voting machines that don't have any auditable paper trail *cough*PENNSYLVANIA*cough*

Her world will most certainly crumble around her because of a recount she ordinarily would not know anything about. So give her a cookie and an iPad to play with. She'll be okay. I promise.
