Honey if you thought the Civil War was about defeating slavery you need to learn a bit of history. Remember the mill hands from the northern cities who were forced into the Union army as a way to preserve their jobs from the emancipated slaves. You serve, you keep your job, and the slave doesn't get it.

OP, truly I don't get this. I am a Trump supporter who, first of all, did vote for him on economics (taxes) and because he represents an end to current corruption but why do you think I was voting against the concept of "all men (people) being created equal." What am I missing?

No. He thinks that people coming from Muslim countries need to be vetted thoroughly before coming here. What problem do you have with that?


Because that is racism by definition. Do you think all black men in the United States should be stopped and frisked whenever police want because a disproportionate amount of crime happens to be committed by black men?


Muslim is not a race, so by definition, it isn't racism.

Ever been in a Muslim country? The men there are so sexually repressed that they would grab a boob or a vagina or even a nose of any woman not clad in a chador. If you are so worried about preserving your female sensibilities, admitting a bunch of Muslim men is not going to be a good thing. See, for example, New Year's Eve 2016 in Germany.

All men are NOT created equal. And if you look at the text "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness." consider it in the context of the times and include areas covered in that paragraph.

And we know, as did the founding fathers, that equality is a laudable concept and goal but is not attainable.

Think about your answer. Vetting people from Muslim countries is racist by definition. How? It's a religion, not a race. There are Muslims of all races. Trump made his statement after the attack in Cali. There were problems venting the wife who was Muslim. So his answer was to stop all immigration from Muslim countries till the system was fixed. He said ban all Muslim and the press ran with it.
Stop and frisk is local police not federal. If you have a problem with stop and frisk, it is decided on the local level as it was in NYC. The Feds are not involved. So he can support it, but it will not matter. It local.
