Absolutely bribe him to go to therapy.
I highly recommend Kazdin's book: https://www.amazon.com/Kazdin-Method-Parenting-Defiant-Child/dp/0547085826 Therapy for parents is absolutely crucial as well. You will need a therapist who specializes in adolescence and defiance disorder who can advise you on parenting strategies. (This doesn't mean you are a bad parent, but your standard parenting strategies may not be the right ones for this kid, even if they work well for your other kids.) You will also need someone for just you, someone to help and support *you.* Parenting a child with problems like this is terrifying and exhausting and very lonely, you will need someone to talk to. |
| Op, if you have an active incident call the crisis team. They have mobile services if he refuses help. |
