Where to go from here? 1st grade boy -- impulsivity, aggression, bothering other kids, antsiness

You start off by saying that you met with your child's teacher. Did the teacher say when the "impulsivity" occurs? Could your child be bored? Does your son have to sit for long periods of time? I was a teacher in Texas for many years. Students came to school with various learning styles and cognitive levels and it was my job to meet their needs. It was a challenge, but I did everything I could in the classroom BEFORE suggesting that a child be tested. You may have already asked these questions, but I would try to work together with the teacher to determine when this behavior is occurring. He may need to be challenged more in the classroom. Just a thought!

OP, I just wanted to weigh in and say that you sound like you're doing the right things but that is possible you'll come away with no diagnosis and the behaviors will resolve over time or with the right setting. There are plenty of parents on this board even though they are the minority who have seen their children's issues improve greatly or even disappear with the right school or teacher.
