How much is your PITI if you earnn around $200k?

We are at $230k and pay $2500 PITI. We have elementary age kids so still some childcare costs. Also save for college. We could probably go up to $300k if we reigned in grocery and vacation spending. I can't imagine having a HHI over $200k and not saving for college, OP.

250 HHI, 3900 PITI. Totally comfortable.

These two numbers, standing alone, are not that helpful. They don't account for other expenses that could change the overall financial picture. For instance if family A has no kids and no student loans and a HHI of 250k, a PITI of $4,000 might be doable. But Family B, also with 250K HHI, has two kids in daycare and 100k in student loans. They need lower PITI.

210k gross HHI, $3525 PITI. No other debt. No kids yet, but will have one within the next year.

We could manage a $4500 mortgage now. But once we have kids, I don't think we could do it. We've run the numbers and with our current expenses, we'll be fine but we'll have to cut back on savings with a child in daycare.

210 income
PITI is 2400
Three kids in daycare/aftercare for a total of about $2900/month
One newish car, one beater that is paid for
We're on a budget but have some wiggle room

Base income of $205,000 and an additional $13,500 - $25,000 in bonuses. Our PITI is $3,100 a month, and I feel like it is too much. We pay $1050 for part-time child care for our son, and are expecting DS #2 in March. We don't have any other debt. We fully fund retirement but haven't been saving aggressively for college yet.

We're around $175k HHI and have a mortgage of $2200. We are looking to buy a SFH in the next couple of years and only expect a small increase in salary between now and then. We're trying not to go higher than $2800/month and even that wouldn't leave us a ton of wiggle room in our budget (we have kids, though). I could almost imagine doing 3000/month but beyond that, I honestly don't know where the money would come from.

You should be taking home $10k/month. A $3k mortgage should be fine unless you have high student loans or something.

I make about 50k more and don't take home that much after taxes, health care, 401k.

We live in DC, have a HHI of $220k, two kids in daycare so monthly daycare costs are $3k a month. We will only have that payment for two years.

Our PITI is $3300 a month.

It's tight, but doable.

We're at $220k and our monthly take home is just under 10k (after taxes, health care, 401k).

My guess is the family that takes home less lives in DC.

$250,000 income and PITI around $3500. One in private school, no debt, grandparents funding college.
