New poster here--and I can vouch that the new Gap receipts that come with the online orders (not the return label but the receipt) does not mention the 45 day policy. The back of the receipt has multiple paragraphs which descibe in detail how to make returns but no where does it mention a time limit on returns. The only way to know the 45 day limit is to go to the website and look under "customer service". It is rather tricky of the Gap. If you just read the receipt and don't go to the website (and I don't know who would think to go to the website) then it appears that you can return things anytime. It's completely within Gap's perogative to only accept returns within 45 days but I think it's shady to not include this information anywhere in the detailed instructions on returning things that is part of the invoice. Every other company has this detailed within the retrun instuctions on the packing slip. |
| PP, I am looking at a shipping receipt and it does say 45 days. I wonder if since The GAP also ships from Old Navy, Athleta, Banana and Piper Lime perhaps there is a generic packing slip being used since all those stores may have different policies. I know you can order from multiple stores and get the items in one shipment so maybe you really have to look online, but my shipping slip does say 45 days. |
| OK meanies, OP has now said she's not *suing* the Gap, she was just upset. Yes, stores are getting tighter with return policies and that is probably just fine. But OP was upset. Who does not get upset over 300 bucks? We've stalled on returns and been SOL before too. So yes, maybe OP has to suck it up, but you guys are being so mean to her. She had a serious pregnancy condition and maybe that was the last thing she was thinking of. I've always felt that the Gap has a good customer service team and unlike the poster that's angry that OP wants to bend the rules, I think it's perfectly appropriate for a small (and longtime) customer to ask a big company for a break.
