+1 was going to say the same thing. I always had grape in my PBJ growing up. |
| This is a SES thing. Grow up poor = grape. Grow up with money = strawberry. |
| I'm about to say something a little controversial.... JAM > jelly. Grape jam. Strawberry jam. It's all about JAMS not jellys |
|
As a kid the choice was apple or grape jelly! I chose apple. As an adult, yeah strawberry jam!
Did you kids not have apple jelly? |
|
grape for PB&J
blackberry otherwise....sometimes I even use it on PB&J |
OP here. My husband did not grow up poor, but his family is very frugal. Could this be the reason for his questionable taste in jellies: his extremely frugal parents chose grape for their kids due to the cost factor? |
Is apple jelly different than apple butter? |
Grape. Strawberry is for the 1%'ers. Apple Jelly? You are perverse. |
I think this is it. Also the pp about calling using jam not jelly is correct too. |
| I'm from the UK so I don't count but grape "jelly" (obv should be jam) is unheard of. Always strawberry. Can also do raspberry or other berries (blueberry, blackberry, black currant). Marmalade also has its place. |
Yes, it does. In the trash bin. |
|
Neither. I like orange marmalade or lemon curd.
If doing a PB&J, I like orange marmalade. If I was forced to chose in some tragic case, I would go with strawberry. |
Marmalade sucks! We don't need a Brit on here giving us FOOD advice! Next, you'll be expounding on the virtues of spotted dick! (I am actually just kidding!) |
+1 lol. I'm a Strawberry Jam girl! |
