There are three lots: $12/day; $10/day and $8/ day. |
I will be traveling from BWI with an 8 month old baby--do the offsite parking services use local roads or the highway to get into the airport? If it is highway, is it really close? Have others taken babies on these offsite shuttles? |
They are pretty close -- IIRC one is basically closer than BWIs long term lot. |
We started using PreFlight (you have to reserve ahead of time) when we had at 6 am flight at BWI - parked in the long term parking - no shuttle buses came and we missed our flight - the bags got misdirected and we missed 2 days of our vacation. Thought we try it again and it was a busy summer at the airport neither of the long term lots had space - same thing happened again over Thanksgiving. So we stopped. At PreFlight they are on-time, they will help with flats or battery issues - deliver you to your car, if you flight is delayed or outside the normal hours you call and they come immediately. The lots will fill up on busy weekends but we won't go back to the long term parking. |
Some of these people suggesting that you use other lots than the $9 rail station garage actually use the rail garage themselves and don't want you to learn their secret. |
THIS. are you me?? still.. I recommend and stick with their long term parking... easy to find, shuttle comes often, and its cheap. |
how early did you get to airport?? if you get there at the suggested 2 hrs before a flight then I can't imagine you'd miss a flight... you were probably really pushing it.. not fair to blame the shuttle. |
Big fan of parking with the southwest pilots in the rail garage. $9/day and covered. |
true. |
NOPE. We were at the airport (parking lot) by 3:30 am for a 6 am flight. The check in desks didn't even open until 4:30 am. When you are sitting at a shuttle bus stop for an hour with no buses come you miss your flight. So it wasn't us - we don't push things like that...I'm guessing you have never been there at that time in the morning. |
