| Assuming the Montessori is preschool, not elementary, they are presumably all still harnessed. |
Ah, I got confused because she was talking about a 2nd grader. In a car seat. |
Don't do it, OP. Every family around here has at least one lawyer in it, and if anything happens to anyone's snowflake, you'll be sued into bankruptcy. |
Depending on the seat it takes 1-4 minutes. Not a big deal for a harnessed FF seat. |
No. OP is talking about a second grader in a HBB. Another person is talking about a Montissori child in a tethered car seat. |
Yes I ask. Because when four 8 yr olds regularly carpool to practice together and no one else has extra seats, at least I'm asking. DS is embarrassed that I continue to ask his friends since "no one uses them anymore Mom!" but I will continue to do so. I will not force them when they do not regularly use one and are over 8 if their parents do not ask. |
Doubt it if they are installing it at pick up. |
You are a crappy person if you don't make that clear to the people whose kids you are driving around. They probably aren't asking because they're assuming you aren't a nitwit who cares about embarrassment of an 8 yeAr old over safety. |
Its not an option in my car. For 8 year olds, I would have a no back booster for them. |
If the seat belt doesn't fit properly what's there to ask? You let an 8 year old ride without being properly restrained because he chooses to? If the belts don't fit the booster is required. |
+1. I don't care what their parents do in their own car. My car, my rules. I can think of one giant 8 year old I'd let slide. Backless boosters are so easy. Why not? |
| I posted about carpooling with 4 but it relates to OP's question. To all of you that insist kids over 8 still use backless boosters and you carpool, how many extras do you have? I'm genuinely curious. With busy practice scheduled carpooling was a lifesaver. Do all of you really have 3-4 extras at any given time? |
We keep 5 boosters in my car and 3 in DH's, one for each rear seat. They're cheap and we have one available for every possible seat that could need one. |
NP here. Once they are 8, it is legal for them to ride without a booster. I will mention to the other parent whether I have a booster or not (depending on how many I'm picking up, I only have one spare) and I've never yet had someone refuse the carpool due to lack of booster. |
Np here. Wow. |
