Great Beginnings Chantilly location closed?

I'm saddened to read all this. When my daughters were born 11 and 9 years ago and during that baby stage, Great Beginnings was my go to baby store. The one in Gaithersburg. They were fantastic! Remember that Baby Bargains book? They gave GB such high ratings too.

What happened to their ownership that they went downhill? They used to be a very good business. Sad.

The pipe burst in one store so they had to close both stores? Lol. Insurance would cover water damage.

No, the moco great beginnings store had closed a while ago.

I had good experience with baby2teen with our first crib and then older daughter's twin bed.

I'd also had good experiences at the chantilly great beginnings. The people in store were very helpful and knowledgable about their products.

I have been to baby blossom, although it is a little farther away. The fairfax location is better than the Reston one.

We had a pending order from April. I tried to call and follow up several times in June with no answer. Finally we get a shady email from them in July saying due to a flood, they were closing and to follow up with the manufacturers directly (while not providing the contacts for the brands we actually ordered from).

We had to file a claim with our credit card company to get our money back. Super annoying, but we were better off than most -- at least our baby isn't here yet! Check out Yelp for some truly awful stories.

No - the Gaithersburg store shut down a couple years ago. I think they were supposed to move nearer Bethesda but that never happened.
