Summer reading recommendations 7-9 year old boys

Wayside School Books, Fudge by Judy Blume, Henry Huggins by Bevery Cleary, Louis Sachar books, Narnia series by CS Lewis, Humphrey the Hamster series, Pippi Longstocking. My 3rd graders loved Pippi this year. You can get abridged copies of classics, like The Call of the Wild. It is good for cultural literacy.

My 7 year old is also a big fan of Geronimo Stilton, the Stink Series, and A-Z Mysteries. Also My Weird School, but I'm not a fan. His slightly older cousin is really into the I Survived books.

We are loving Geronimo Stilton this summer. Also in a total throw back, the Hardy Boys.

My boys loved the Bone (Jeff Smith) and Amulet (Kazu Kibuishi) graphic novel series.

Vocabulary is a little more challenging, but my DS recently loved "The Mysterious Benedict Society," which is a 4-book series. I read the first one and really enjoyed it myself. We have also enjoyed reading aloud "68 Rooms."
