At my Giant in DC, store brand organic milk is <$4 for a half gallon. Sometimes sales on Stonyfield or Horizon make those less, like $3.89 or $3.69. Sometimes I get coupons thru Giant Rewards or the Horizon and Stonyfield websites. |

Aldi, I think it's $3. |
My MOM's is $5.99/gallon. hmmmmmmm |
Aldi.
Also, PP didn't say it was for kids. We buy skim for grown ups and whole for kids. |
Could you list what exactly they put in the low fat milk? |
MOM's is Trickling Springs Dairy. Good stuff. |
I go out of my way to buy milk that is both organic and NOT ultra-pasteurized, because ultra-pasteurization kills the vitamins probiotics and nutrients that were original to the milk. Trader Joe's and Whole Foods carry this, as do some Safeway Stores. I can't get it at Giant. Most of the national brands of organic milk are ultra-pasteurized. |
Could you post a link to what you read? I'm a bit Overwhelmed by all the info out there. Trying to firgure what what type of milk to buy (for adults) |
Whole Foods and Harris Teeter are usually $6/gallon. HT sometimes has it on sale for around $5, though sometimes even less, particularly for eVic special of the week. |
