Who said that? And yes, many (though not every) thing is under a person's control. I've never met a person on a mostly plant-based diet, who exercised regularly and drank a lot of water, that had trouble pooping. |

I really think this is a personal biology thing.
I'm "regular" but not "frequent," if that makes sense. I go maybe every 3 days. That's just my normal. My spouse and parents were horrified when this came up at some point, apparently they are all daily go-ers. My body also totally shuts down if I'm on a short 2 - 3 business trip. Within an hour of getting home, game on - but in my hotel room or when traveling? Nope. Longer trips I do eventually go, but it is even less frequent than normal. I don't feel particularly self conscious of it and I have private rooms to go in, so it isn't a public restroom issue. No health issues. Just my makeup and how I've been since I was a kid. Unless I feel physically constipated, I don't worry about it. |
|
19:10 here again - I drink over 100 oz of water a day and work out 45 - 60 minutes daily (maybe miss 2 days a month). I do eat meat, but I track my calories/nutrition and get plenty of fiber daily.
Just my biology. And this is why people get self-conscious about it, because the daily easy-as-shit poopers think their way is the only healthy way. I've talked to my doctor about it and he said the main thing is if there is a CHANGE in how often or how easily you go. Changes are what are concerning. If you're less frequent or less easy, as long as you are eating well there isn't anything to worry about. |

I don't know why it is easy for some people - I guess when they have to go, they go.
I am very regular and culturally (I am Indian) we have been taught to poop first thing in the morning, in our own bathrooms. (Maybe a dearth of hygienic and easily accessible toilets had a lot to do with it...) Could it be my veggie rich diet? The probiotics in my homemade yogurt? The posture of squatting with the aid of "squatty potty"? Or a combination of all of the above? |
Do you eat more omnivore fiber, (oranges, carrots, sweet potatoes, apples, squash, etc), or low-carb "fiber" (cucumber, lettuce, celery)? |
|
You need a Squatty Potty. It's a real thing; we have one, and it will help you. Their internet commercial may be the funniest ever commercial, but it actually educates as well as entertains.
Just think about it. Chairs are a modern invention. We have not evolved to "go" in that position. We were made to squat. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YbYWhdLO43Q |
| I do it easily. I only go when I feel the urge. I eat a good balanced diet with some coffee thrown in there. |
| I've never had a problem going, even in a public bathroom. I feel like "I need to evacuate this waste." If it needs to leave my body, I get it out. I HATE holding it. It's not like we're holding diamonds up there. Let it go! |

| OP: you (apparently) just need one of these: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YbYWhdLO43Q |
| ^ ha! Pp here. Didn't realize someone had recently posted the same video. |
Same here, but he's in there for at least 15 minutes and poops 2-3 times a day. I don't think it's normal to go that much and to struggle with it. He gets defensive about it though...maybe it's a personality thing cause he can be pretty uptight. |

using a little stool/bench helps
coffee in the morning fiber takes me about 10-15 minutes usually to feel really nice and emptied |
