Instead of focusing on why you haven't been promoted, write a business case for why you should be promoted. Cite all of things you mentioned here but leave out the part about the co-worker. Document everything you've done, accomplished and your performance reviews; and quantify everything so they see how your work contributes to the bottom line.

Thanks, but it turns out I didn't have to do any of that. Besides, making a business case for being promoted when you don't know the standards is....not possible. |
