Would love some recs for more thriller type books.

Descent by Tim Johnston is new in paperback and a very good suspense novel. I also liked Fates and Furies and hated Luckiest Girl Alive.

I almost picked this one up. Let me know what you think!

New poster- i liked this book. It is sort of an adult fairy tale---somehow, though, I got into it!

So cool to see this post! i loved Ice Cream Star and don't know a single other person that has read it. Loved the others you mention too, except for Kitchens of the Great Midwest, which I haven't read. I will add it to my list!

I admit, for the first couple chapters I couldn't make my brain comprehend the language and I almost put it down. But I told myself to stick with it and after 6-7 chapters I got the hang of it and could read it easily. Glad I pushed through!

Yes, me too. I had a similar experience with The Wake, which was a novel about England during the time of the Norman Conquest written in a faux-Old English that was hard to grasp at first. I recommend this one, too.
