He's injured himself 3 separate times in public recently. You think that's normal behavior? |
| I read NBC recently renewed his contract for a number of years. I'm surprised because it is pretty well known he has big drug and alcohol (and womanizing, although that won't sink a show like the first two might) problems. |
It's show business. As long as his ratings are high and he's America's sweetheart, NBC execs couldn't care less if he snorts mountains of cocaine, drinks gallons of hard liquor, and screws hookers til the cows come home. |
| I hope he can overcome his demons. He has a lot to live for. |
But at what point would this behavior impact his ability to do a five-day-a-week show? How long can someone sustain a "massive" cocaine and/or alcohol habit and keep their highly visible work commitments? I am genuinely curious. Wouldn't that require more than being a functioning alcoholic? |
He does lip-sync battles for a living. It's probably better when he's high. |
Yeah, if he can gloss over the serious interviews (does he ever do one?) then he can skate by with his stupid games and contests with guests. No one will notice he's high for a while. |
| He never does real interviews. Do any of the late- night guys? He's by far the worst, though. |
My impression from pop culture is that for comedians, addiction lifestyle is very doable. |
Colbert is definitely doing "real interviews." |
Yes. John Belushi? Chris Farley? Noted addicts who just didn't make it. |
| Wow, a rare opportunity to see a train wreck in action prior to it going off the rails. This is a teachable moment for your kids about the dangers of doing drugs. Sadly and inevitably, the chances of this ending well are slim. |

I just think he's a klutz. I don't at all see alcohol or drugs as a Fallon issue.

You realize he cut his hand on a bottle of Jagermeister, right? |
