| Agree, the college admission data better captures real outcomes. Rankings based on mean test performance are simply a reflection of an area's overall SES. Bottom line the difference between the high-schools doesn't appear meaningful. |
http://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/506910.page Saw this post about the Siemens Semi-Finalists. Wasn't surprised to find that rankings fail to capture this disparity. |

Isn't there a class at Blair for this contest? Not to take anything away from the finalists, but it would be hard to argue that doesn't come into play.

Well Blair's magnet is 100 kids per grade.
School is huge. It has about 2800 kids. If 1/4 of them are 12th graders, that is 700 kids. So only 1 out of 7 kids is in magnet. You probably get another 2 college bound kids from CAP and local population. Only 37% of kids take AP exams (not all of them will pass.) Got a picture? I am wondering how is picture are Poolesville, it should be comparable to Wootton, since it is total magnet, and 3/4 of the school get test in kids. |
| Sp Blair is 10X better than Wooten at science? |

| Find a house you like and can afford. All of these clusters are fine and large. |
| I think you won't go wrong with any of those schools. I have a child who went to Wootton and thrived there, and I have two at RM, who also love it. |
