The Hyatt Tamaya is AMAZING for kids OP.
The have multiple daily activities, jewelry making, native american story telling, movies under the stars, s'mores, a rodeo on Thursday nights. The food is affordable. There are fridges in the room so you can pack pb & j and some other snacks for the room. Santa Fe is a great stop for sightseeing. |
Yes, Hyatt Tamaya does look amazing. I may try to fly into Phoenix, go to the Sonoran Desert area and then go to Santa Fe and fly back from there. That was what I originally wanted to do. Is there anything in between Tuscon and Santa Fe? I doubt DH will want to drive ~7 hrs for a resort. He would rather relax by the pool, play tennis and golf. |
No, and that's a reallly long drive. NM is great, but the trips really need to be split. |
|
Also, NM won't be warm. I really want to do that trip also, Abq, Santa Fe, Taos and Durango, CO but I think its a separate trip and I can't find a school break that works well in terms of weather (kids are 7 and 9).
We are going to AZ for spring break, 4 nights Phoenix-Sxottsdale, 3 Sedona, 1 night near Grand Canyon Tucson sounds great too but I just didn't want to add to the driving. |
OP here. I have done that trip previously without kids and it was a fabulous trip. I recommend pink jeep tours and Elote is a must. It was one of the best meals of my life. |
| OP, it sounds like your kids would be really excited to do some more adventurous stuff away from a resort kids club--you can probably find some fun day trips to do as a family in between relaxing days at the resort. |
I would go to Tuscon before Phoenix but I realize it is further away from the Grand Canyon. |
Yep. Phoenix is just like any other big city. |
