where do you hang your kitchen towels?

Do you jsut use the kitchen towel to dry your hands after washing the dishes? All silly questions but all things I've wondered. My mom was never a fan of them so I always see them in other people's kitchens.

If I have a towel that gets smelly, obviously it gets tossed in the laundry room to wait for the next load. If I see my kids wipe their dirty faces on a towel (because they're pigs) I will toss it in the laundry. If I'm working with raw meat that causes me to wash my hands a lot, I'll retire the towel to the laundry when I'm done. When I'm low on clean dish towels (although I have a lot of them) I will run a load. If I'm washing other towels in the house, I will throw in the dirty dish towels as well. I like to wash them in hot water.

I go through at least 5 kitchen towels a day including small ones. I have an abnormal fear of contamination. Usually a wet towel gets tossed in the wash and replaced many times during the day. My husband laughs about missing towels.

DH has vetoed those also.

Since he has problems with all the standard solutions I think it's up to him to figure this out.

We never have wet towels in the kitchen. After cleanup, the towel goes directly into the wash.

?? You never wash your hands in the kitchen except when you are cleaning up after a meal? Or you use the towel once each time?
