Op did you already put down the $500 materials fee and the $1800 deposit? Is there anyway you can get any of that upfront money back. This situation really is ridiculous.

OP here - I appreciate all of the opinions on the matter. We have made our decision and are staying with Merritt for a variety of reasons.
