Both my parents forgot my birthday....

My birthday was on Monday. I forgot...

Product of getting old and busy. I do hope I never, ever forget my kid's bday. I will set a reminder, now.

OP, how old are you? I definitely remembered, kept on top in my 20's and 30's, because hey I was going to celebrate and others were involved. It's good you and your brother laugh it off, but definitely make the commitment if/when you have a family, that birthdays will be celebrated - always.

My parents forgot my birthday the year I turned 11. I had to remind them at breakfast. They felt worse about it than I did. I know they have always loved me.

Be happy that both of your parents are still alive and that you have a relationship with them! That's really all that matters. Well, that and good health for everyone!

You are high maintenance. And entitled.

That happened to me when I turned 32, not one person called me all day. The funny thing is, my mother gets upset when we forget hers...

OMG you should hear the carrying on my mother does at my kid's birthday parties about "not forgetting HER birthday in X amount of weeks", or how she complains to my kids that her husband didn't get her any cake last year.

And yet she completely ignored my 40th, but she could manage to buy my brother a present for his birthday that year.

My dad never in my lifetime knew my birthdate. He always wrote May 15 on forms. It was May 16.

Quick, look outside- maybe Jake Ryan is across the street leaning on his red Porsche and waiting for you???
