Lot of rap is about bitches, drugs, n******, violence, and money.
Justify away. You are still free to listen to garbage I suppose. |
and other music besides religious isn't? |
IKR! Never thought I'd see those names on this board. |
But not all of it. |
I said "lot of," not "all." |
Oh god no. It's the worst. I'm pretty open about music and like different kinds. With one exception. C-rap LOL |
NP. I wanna join you guys. In addition to Mos Def & Talib Kweli Blackstar I'd add Common (his classic stuff, e.g., I Used to Love Her), classic Nas, etc. Then I'd go further back and add Tribe, De La Soul, and I'll stop there since gotta get back to work. ![]() Some people on here railing against rap music w/o really knowing it sound like my Dad, lol. |
I like some old school rap, like De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, and Eric B and Rakim. I don't really know about what's going on in rap music today. I really hate violent, misogynist rap, and I can't stand it blasting from cars. I do like certain rap songs that are played so much you can't help but notice them. I really loved that Outkast album from about 2005, and Nelly's "Hot in Herre" album. But that's about it. |
Love it. Hate that my new kid-friendly car doesn't bump.
Favorites range from Tupac/Biggie/Snoop/Dre (mid 90s) to Jay-Z/Outkast/etc (late 90s/early-to-mid 00s) to TI/Drake/Rick Ross (lmid 00s to current) to Wale and J. Cole (love them). Love Common, the Roots, love the old underground Mos Def/Talib/Blackstar/Tribe/Blackalicious/Jurassic 5 etc. I don't love all the club-centric crunk shit, although some of it's OK. |
Great song by the late MJ. ![]() |
What? No Eminem?

Word +1 |
What do you listen to? You should check out Migos. |
I only like old school rap. I can't take the mess that is out here today. Yes, there are some great underground rappers who have positive messages. I like listening to them. However, the mainstream rap that is popular with the music industry is unbearable. |
Yes to everything. |
