Best idea so far!

You can get discounted cruise tickets for 2 for $450-500 pp (double occupency including both of you) sailing out of Baltimore. It will be more than $1000 if you park your car in the garage, but if you can get a ride to the port and back, then you can do it. The nice thing about cruises is that it is all inclusive. It includes the cabin, all meals, pools and shipboard amenities. If you are in ports, you can find free beaches to go to with your kid. Go to the dollar store and get some sand toys and you can even leave them on the ship if you don't want to lug them home. Sailing in and out of Baltimore, you can bring on some 6-packs of sodas and/or juices for your child (milk, water, iced tea are all free, along with certain juices in the dining rooms) so you don't need the shipboard drink packages.

I saw 3 cruises in June, 2 on Carnival, one on Royal Caribbean that leave the Port of Baltimore for under $500. They go to Bermuda or the Bahamas, which are the cheapest destinations out of Baltimore. Use one of the discount cruise resellers, like vacationstogo.com, icruise.com, etc.

I agree a cruise could be a great option, and you can probably find one under $500 pp or with discounted child rates. There's so much to do on a cruise, you don't have to worry about getting around, and if you do want a little "down" time, the kids clubs on cruises are AWESOME.

A cruise is perfect for your situation. I would do Royal Carribbean (nicer than Carnival), and get a car service to drop you off and pick you up (if you can't get a friend to do it).

+1 for Lancaster. Also Dutch Wonderland is a better value than Sesame Place (and less crowded).

also +1 for Club Med if you can go in Sept right when rates should drop and you don't mind driving.

OP here. Thanks everyone for your suggestions/ recommendations.

cheapcaribbean.com has good deals. You will need to get a passport for your baby. How old is the child?

I really like the Club Med idea...sometimes they do have deals.

Check out lastminutetravel.com ...sometimes they have good last minute deals.
