Less than two hours? That gets you to Winchester or Annapolis? What kind of vacation rentals exist in bedroom communities? I agree Maine would be sublime but requires flights which makes frequent trips $$$$$ |
toward Shenandoah; Annapolis would be nice though |
Bryce Resort has Lake Laura- that's within two hours. It's a smaller lake with no motorized boating but it's very clean and pretty. |
That sounds nice - that's what I hated the most at Lake Anna - all of the power boats. |
Deep creek is awful; stay away! Just kidding. We go monthly to our place. Best house we own. |
Is Bryce 4 season resort? Wisp has ropes course and tree roller coaster for example. Deep creek is stare park; is national or state park near Bryce? |
X2 |
Bryce is a four season resort. Golf, summer tubing, zip line, mountain biking, hiking and fishing in the summer. Skiing/ snowboarding and tubing in the winter. It's very close to George Washington National Forest for hiking and camping and isn't too far from Shenandoah National Park. |
I'm interested in deep creek lake, but would I even ever go? |
What about a mountain house? Wintergreen, Massanutten, etc… are closer and I think they have lakes or pools close by. |
X1000 Might be just the spot for you if drunk rednecks is your thing. Not that the others are Cosmopolitan but lake Anna is trashy. |
The skiing sucks st wisp, better off flying to salt lake city for a few weekends, so the summers and falls better be worth it. |
Nope, neither lake is that great. Save your money. |
If you can rent them out when you want, enough to cover your mortgage, might not be a bad idea. |
I love the boats, and what I miss about living in Michigan: tubing and water skiing all day on the lake. I grew up living right off a lake in Mich and totally miss it. |
