| My dad had stage I colon cancer eight years ago. He had a tiny bit of blood in his stool. He initially thought the blood was because he was constipated after an international flight, but got a colonoscopy to eliminate the worst. His biopsy came back negative, he then requested another biopsy and it was cancer. He's a surgeon. |

My cousins son went to ER because he was having trouble breathing. 25 years old and healthy as can be. They found a softball size tumor and scheduled surgery.
During surgery they found that the tumor was actually football sized and was pushing on his heart and lungs. They were able to remove one of the "points" only. Didn't live to see 27 =( |
That is a huge tumor. That is really sad. |
| My mom had persistent back pain, and the CT scan showed evidence of cancer. She was diagnosed with multiple myeloma after a work up, and has thankfully responded well to chemo thus far. Her doctors are optimistic she'll have many good years left (she's 65). |

Yes, just started my fourth month of chemo. I'm told the 10-year survival odds for my stage are 60-70%, so hoping for the best. Thanks so much! |
I don't want to detract from the purpose of this thread, PP, but check out Dr. Shamsuddin's IP-6 inositol. Call him if you need to to speak with him. He's a professor at the University of Maryland, I believe. You can get info about this product as well as many other supplements at Village Green Apothecary in Bethesda, MD. They have nutritionists on staff to answer your questions. Set up an appointment to have a full eval there at the apothecary. The right supplements and alternative support can make chemo more bearable and boost your energy level. A medical journal article also cited Dr. Shamsuddin's IP-6 inositol as effective in preventing the recurrence of colon cancer. Google it. Prayers to you. |
