| Just asking. Do any of you do the SC shots in the bum? The belly made me sick (maybe psychosomatic) so I've done every cycle in the butt. (And yes, I got a BFP in 2012). |

| I've had to self administer Ganirelix in the RE's office, because I'd run out, but generally, i always ice for about 20 minutes. I almost feel NOTHING. |

It is overwhelming OP! I had my MIL staring at me while my DH did my first injection--what a nightmare (the MIL had already been through like three or more IVF cycles with her own daughters, so it was weirder for me than for her). Take a deep breath. Sort your meds. Watch some videos.
And as my therapist used to say "every injection is a prayer." |

| You can go to an injection class with your DH. They offer these at SGF. My husband did all of my injections and I’m too scared to do them myself. |

| I had to give myself a shot one night when my husband was working late. It took me about 20-30 minutes to work up the nerve to do it myself. I was sweating and panicking. I finally did it and was seriously??? It was nothing. Once you do the first one the fear is gone. Your husband will be fine giving you the shots. The online tutorial videos are great. Watch you tube videos of husbands giving their wives shots. |

I had an irrational fear of IM injections, and during my first IVF cycle had to pay a nurse a couple of hundred dollars to do a trigger shot.
Three years later I had a FET cycle that required multiple PIO injections over several weeks. I did one..and you know what, it is NOTHING. Like seriously nothing. It doesn't hurt (OK it's not fun but it doesn't hurt), it's easy to do and there is no need to depend on anyone else. If you have two hands and two buttocks, you can do it. |

| I must be the lone person who was not able to do the injections herself and they were so extremely painful (hurt to sit, walk, sleep, go up and down stairs--basic stuff). I'm happy to hear so many people were successful doing it on their own and weren't in pain but for me I had the complete opposite reaction. |
