Do parents get actively involved in MOCO elementary schools?

It just seems from an outsider perspective, with my only resource being DCUM currently, that there is a tremendous amount of apathy about elementary schools.

Yes, there is widespread about the elementary school curriculum because its so bad now and MCPS is too big to change. Parents are very involved and value education but they don't trust MCPS, nor should they, honestly. The amount of parents that "supplement" or basically replace the curriculum at home in some clusters is extraordinary. What is really disheartening is that MCPS is now a joke and free daycare.

People are just hoping that high school doesn't end up as screwed up as elementary school.

Apathy toward MCPS? Yes. MCPS is just too big and too broken.

Look at all the sex offense cover ups. Not one principal that covered up a sex offender or sent a child back to a class room with the attacker that they had just reported has been fired. 2.0 is a disaster but MCPS will cling to it no matter what parents say or how many kids fail exams.

MCPS has just crossed over the line of angering their community so many times that they think it doesn't matter.
