Thought we're discussing cheaper options... |
I know more than one person who really disliked the social scene at Lehigh. At least in their experience, it was pretty Greek-life oriented and if you weren't in it you didn't have much to do. For what it's worth, I am from a nice enough but definitely not affluent suburb of Pittsburgh and I think some of their issues were the culture shock that comes with going to a school that costs as much as Lehigh does and being around people whose families can afford it for the first time.
Not sure if that would be jarring for your daughter but thought it was worth mentioning. Best of luck to her! Those are both great choices! |
Umm... have you ever gotten off the highway and walked through campus? Obviously not. It's beautiful. |
"Beautiful"??? |
I think a lot of people really like the JMU campus. Individual buildings may not blow you away but overall it is a really pleasant environment. Wish I could have talked DS into applying but he wanted a Big Ten or SEC school in the Midwest/South. |
Please define what makes a school a "regional." |
Have you ever walked through the main campus and the quad? No? ![]() |
Very well known in their particular regions. |
Niece graduated from JMU after transferring from UVA got an excellent job in NYC right out of school (she is 23 and earning about 150K but working around the clock)! Loved her experience there. |
Cheaper, but within relevant range of academics. But then you knew this, didn't you. |
