Current parents -- any negatives to Mundo Verde???

My K number has been dropping like a stone. Far more than any other school. Clearly there are lots of issues!

Well, current parents are frustrated that they have not received class assignments yet! Only early childhood has been notified thus far. School starts tomorrow!

Would that really make people leave?

I am feeling like we would accept if we got in, the benefits of DCI and Spanish looming so large for me. But the first day at our IB was smooth and full of warmth. Much impressed with the teacher. So I dunno.

The K numbers dropping likely has little to do with any issues at MV. K is a big expansion year for MV, and those kids that are matched in the lottery in K likely also have good waitlist numbers elsewhere and may leave if they get a spot at another school they prefer. In general, the cohort of re-enrolling kids is more stable than the cohort of new matches - in grades with a lot of new matches, there is likely to be more movement.

Just symptomatic of the problems with the administration! This is the one issue they are expected to have in control. Most schools assign the classes before the end of the previous school year with inputs from grade level teachers, counselors, etc. Understandably this info is not released until about the week before school starts, but even this lack of communication is beyond the norm.

the commute is horrible. We tried it a few times at rush hour in the morning and its a nightmare, plus no parking around the school. It would have added easily 45 min to my commute every single day. The neighborhood is super sketchy too.

Haha that’s pretty bad.

DCI is no garuantee for spanish. If you want certainty into DCI, then mandarin is pretty much the only way. They will not expand enough to take all the spanish feeders.
