There was an entire thread about her before she even started. Jeff had to erase personal info if I recall correctly.

Really, it doesn't matter if she has or hasn't though, just note that whatever your opinion, people are real and this stuff gets back to them, be better than that ok?

She has terrible management and leadership skills. She's never worked at elementary level and doesn't know what's developmentally appropriate. I have no problem with that getting back to her ok?

The principal of Lafayette is excellent. She is a breath of fresh air. If the teachers and staff don't care for her it is largely because almost all of the staff was hired by a previous principal who had been there forever and who had very different thoughts about how to do things. The previous principal hated DCPS and went out of her way to disparage it and the folks that she had hired were largely of the same mind. So of course there's going to be some tension when you get someone new in that doesn't necessarily think that fighting with the school district and openly hating it is a great idea.

ECE is not the problem with DCPS, it's middle school where you have the issues.

Well, not 10 years ago when my child was starting school. Our in boundary schools (in Dupont area) were terrible, and VERY few in boundary kids went there.
It's totally different now, with almost 50% inboundary.

What's the point of this thread? You're going to get a bunch of JKLM/Brent/Maury/SWS/Logan lovers, and we've all heard it - plus a few LT/miner/Payne/shepherd/Burroughs boosters trying to make it work, and convince others it will.

My 4 yo is in PK-3 at Peabody (Nov birthday). A lot is said here about the Cluster but Peabody itself is a jewel. I drop my daughter off everyday knowing that she is with people who love and care for her and her development.

Trying to make it work at Shepherd? Shepherd has always been a good school. Are you kidding yourself? Just because there are brown kids in a school does not mean its a work in progress. I would love to get into Shepherd. Next to Ross and Oyster it is one of the top schools EOTP.
