Lack os social skills, but we are dawning on the age of dependence on technology.

Interesting, but I think not. The trouble with eye contact provides challenges for mate attracting.

My kid's with Asperger's eye contact is normal. Poor eye contact is not necessary for an Asperger's diagnosis.

That said, poor social skills is not a step up in human evolution.

If you notice that the youth of today hardly communicate in person anymore. It's already happening. Direct social interactions are not the most efficient use of time and are antiquated. This is perfect for asbergers (or ASD without intellectual disability)

The rest are douche bags and can't relate to those who are different.

Hon, the bolded is pretty much the definition of being on the spectrum.

On line dating sites have been a boon to people on the spectrum. Many of them have good resumes and are attractive to women on line. Once they meet, they are often far enough in the computer-generated relationship that they can just stumble forward to marriage It is after marriage that the problems occur. Those on the spectrum have a difficult time living with someone and it is heightened if children are born by the chaos of family living.

Right. I can't believe this would even be a debate!

The way that people attract mates is now completely different look at this posting, notice that a strong social media standing and connection etc.. are more important. The younger generation will date the persona created online and that's what attracts them to each other.

Why is it now desirable to be on the spectrum, at least on one end of it. I've heard parents fondly describe their children as Little Sheldon Coopers. WTH.

Not really though, not more important. It's just important to be social and proficient in more than one medium now (in person and online). Smart women with options will not get so caught up in an online relationship that they overlook terribly awkward irl encounters and somehow stumble down the aisle.

That theory was developed by someone who hasn't spent a lot time around anyone with Aspergers. My family members can solve problems but can't keep it together during a monumental meltdown over being five minute late or any slight change in a schedule.

It's evolution in that evolution offers options but it's not evolution as in 'Aspergers will inherit the earth'.

In other words, Aspergers is competing with all other normal/not normal/different/whatever aspects of people. It's normal genetic variance.

Are you 50 years old? be social and proficient in more than one medium now? Please, the in person interaction is dying, when was the last time anyone really used a phone who isn't going to be in depends in a few years.

In the end society will adapt to Asperger population, not the other way around. They will be the thinkers while the rest of the people mop up human crap.

I think that people with Aspergers are less likely to procreate, no? Aspies can socialize using the internet, but they are awkward with regard to dating and relationships. So, my guess is that they are less likely to continue the species than non-Aspies.

Actually aspies look as sex as just an action or a function to either get off or procreate. Once you get over the fact that no one really does the traditional courting and dating anymore you can see what is going on in society. It's all done online and basically when you meet the person you are already 90% of the way to sleeping with them.

Have you ever had sex? That's one in person activity that isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Oh, I get it. You can't talk to an actual woman to save your life- you have to believe it's that way for everyone. Okay, carry on.
