Honey filled pacifier. Wtf?

I was wondering that, too (not that it is relevant to OP's dilemma). I'm assuming there is a tiny hole in the pacifier so that when the baby sucks on it the baby gets honey. If that is how it works, I would like one for myself!

My live-in MIL is also foreign-born and has some weird and outdated ideas about parenting. I mentioned the grandparent class to her a couple times. The first time she blew off my comment, but the second time, after baby had come and she realized how out of practice and behind the times she is (ie I had to explain things like disposable diapers and not giving newborn DD water for her hiccups) she was suddenly a lot more interested.

Lucky for us, she mostly listens when we tell her not to do something...so far. We are only 4 weeks in. She still drives me nuts, but that's more a function of her being my live-in MIL. I feel your pain OP and I would totally freak in your situation.

Remember, that your child learning how to treat elderly from watching how you great your parents and IL. Don't be surprise many years later when your child will only see you on Christmas, Thanksgiving and your bd.

OP, kindness comes first. There are things that she may be totally ignorant about, that mean a lot to you. Doesn't mean she is vile and vicious. Don't let this come in the way of baby-grandma bond. I cherish my grandparents so much , I still miss them after all these years.

I was wondering too. And wouldn't the honey be too thick to go through the tiny hole?
I am assuming OP meant she covered the pacifier in honey?
Either way, it's just a weird thing to do for a baby.
