I gotta say, I've never looked at McKinley Tech's test scores before, and they are surprisingly solid.

Are you referring to the high school or the middle school? The high school has been solid for years; where did you find the scores for the middle school? Its not on the DCPS school site.

High school. McKinley middle is new so there aren't past years' scores. Sorry if a lot of people knew about McKinley high school scores, personally I didn't and I am impressed. I knew it was a good school but I didn't realize they have such an edge over Wilson. I see the kids walking to school every day and it puts a smile on my face knowing they're going to a great program.

Also I think they will have the next meeting on Dec 18, though don't quote me on that.

They will open up the school for tours once it is no longer a hard hat zone.

Just to be clear, McKinley high is application-only, so there is creaming going on

MckInley MS test scores or McKinley SH test scores? Which ones are solid? TIA

High school scores are pretty good. http://profiles.dcps.dc.gov/McKinley+Technology+High+School

I've heard the middle school is struggling because it's a gen ed program . I know dcps is categorically against middle school magnets but in this case it just seems bizarre to have a general ed science focus school for middle but you have to test into it to attend for high school. It would be better if it was a test in school for 6 to 12th grade.

I don't know if it's fair to compare an academic magnet program's school wide scores to a general education school's school wide scores.
