| ^^ don't tell me... public school teacher? There's no need to get all worked up. Public schools aren't going anywhere; there's no need to be catty about people who want something different. |
You couldn't be more wrong. I'm a private school parent. And the catty part was you. |
So you basically made that nasty comment to reassure yourself that the 30k you're shelling out for junior is worth it? How do you think schools get started--they just sprout out of the ground with 300 kids and a couple dozen teachers? |
What are some of the great high school only options in VA? I'm asking honestly, because I don't know the schools in the area, so I'm only coming up with Madeira. |
| Episcopal. TJ. |
TJ is not a "great private option". Episcopal is, but it's pretty specific in that it doesn't accept day students. |
| If you're looking at Ideaventions Academy, you might like Loudoun School for the Gifted for high school. I'd like to send DC to private for high school but there are really no options that are a good fit. If I had the energy I'd start my own school too! |
Meow Meow Woof Woof |
| I wish they'd create a high school rather than a middle school. A private, stem focused, TJ like school would be quite successful around here. I would open one myself if I had the means. |
| Ideaventions added elementary grades. |
+1 We would be interested in one, too. |
| Holton-Arms |
| Is Pinnacle still around? That was right in Oakton and was a stem focused school. Is this taking its place? I hope all of these places are successful, but have my doubts. Some of the schools around that area like Merritt, Flint Hill, and Green Hedges have a ton of Exxon Mobil children who are leaving this year. Not the best time to start up another private school. |
again...not needed The real need is high school. What good is a 4th-8th school? Where do they expect the kids to go before and after? |
I just looked up pinnacle academy. It's literally about a half mile from Ideaventions and it's a STEM focused middle and elementary school. Maybe they should join forces. |
