I cannot believe I am the first person to post The Fountainhead (or anything Rand). I was obsessed with it.

Also:

Franny and Zooey

I was obsessed with Francesca Lia Block's Weetzie Bat series. I re-read them recently and thought they were so flowery and silly!

Are you There God it's Me Margaret and most of the Judy Blume books - i don't know how these would impact me now other than triggering lots of childhood memories

Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry - this one would probably still get me. I haven't forgotten the impact it had on me as a 12 or 13 year old.

-Are You There, God? It's Me, Margaret. Unfortunately, it didn't help me increase my bust, no matter how much I tried. Also other Judy Blume books.
-various VC Andrews books- They gave me all sort of hormonal adolescent feels.

Oh, and basically any book aimed at middle grade readers about the Holocaust.

Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds by Charles MacKay. It is the one book I would recommend all teens read to understand human nature, markets, con artists, fads, evil, everything. It also reads like a tabloid of history.

The 12 Caesars by Suetonius. Twice the tabloid-y historical goodness of Mackay, Roman style.

And second Agatha Christie
