Hopefully Bowser will come up with a solution to improve all neigborhood middle schools. People laugh when I say this, something which is the norm everywhere outside DC.

OP-

You really need to think about what type of kid you have. Middle school is challenging at a lot of levels for just the puberty issues. What I have found is that for kids that find it difficult to make friends a sudden switch and commute can undermine them in important ways and make them pretty socially isolated.

The ramp up in homework makes commuting much more difficult.

Take a look at the schools actual curriculum, what books are they reading, do they seem appropriate for your child's level?

because not much has improved in terms of middle and high schools since she replaced Rhee. It's over 4 years. We should have seen better results by now.

Because Bowser has to show some level of commitment on schools. She promised us "Deal for all" - if "why her?", then does that mean one campaign promise already abandoned?

Did she really "promise" Deal for all or is her general statement being taken out of context?

Well that was her slogan. But I was skeptical.

I think middle school can be a good time to make a change. Your kid has been with the same kids since PS/PK presumably. Depending on how close the bonds are with classmates, it may be GOOD to shake things up socially.

I used to do some of my homework while commuting.
