The whole shoe thing is a crock. Most shoes cause more problems than they help. I absolutely believe in minimalist, zero drop shoes but no shoe is going to stop wearing of the joints. Running is tough on the body given the angles of the joints. Gait analysis is helpful but good luck modifying things permanently. |
| OP, any update? |

NP who would also like to know if OP has an update, as my IT band problems (which like OP's started in October) have yet to go away, even though I haven't run at all and do stretches/foam rolling.
The PT recs upthread sounded great, but I'm in NoVa and Rockville is not doable on a regular basis. Any good IT band PT recs in Fairfax County? |
| I had this problem for years. Lots of muscle imbalance and tightness and scar tissue. Had to do tons of pt to strengthen my inner thighs and inner knees, foam rolling like mad, ice after exercise and myofascial release , which was the most effective. Hurt like a mutha but worked wonders. |
