I didn't read your link. But I disagree that rape, in general, is COMMON on college campuses. Does it happen? Yes. Should it be tolerated? NO! Should it be prosecuted - YES! But consensual sex is way more common and the stigma of it needs to just plain go away. If you aren't into that, fine. But please let others live their own lives. |
Charlottesville has an extremely high violent crime rate. Stay on campus. |
The buddy system + following up immediately when someone texts that they are lost or don't show up the next day. Why did people wait until Sunday to report Hannah missing? |
Colleges are not safe for women if they are drinking. At UW Milwaukee a frat is in trouble because they marked some girls hands with red X's. Why? So the frat boys would know that these were the girls that had been slipped a drug in their drink. These girls were marked as targets. The three girls got really sick though, along with a guy who had sipped one of the girls drink. The 4 ended up in the hospital. The frat was planning probably to attack these girls when they passed out. If you are college girl anywhere in this country and you are drinking you are at risk. |
No one has come up with anything in this thread. Have been on the tours with your children? You must have heard EVERY SINGLE COLLEGE talk about their escort services, their shuttle vans, their blue light phones, their card access systems, their security patrols, their on campus activities that provide alternatives to bars and parties, and so on, right?
I don't think visiting hours and locking down dorms is how you teach teenagers to make better decisions. You start the conversation and continue it at home. That being said, the person responsible for Hannah Graham's disappearance is Jesse Matthew. Not the college, the friends, the people on the street, or the girl. |
What absolute losers. I guess they couldn't get by on class and looks so they had to drug them. So glad they were caught! |
Yeah, survival of the fittest. Social darwinism rocks! ![]() |
Eliminate the minimum age for drinking. Children would learn how and how much to drink before entering college. Excesses would occur in a safer environment. |
