The baby bathtubs go on a standard sink for early baths, both sponge and submersion. So much easier on your back than bending down to the bathtub ( though that will come later!)

Before the cord stump fell off they'd get a "sponge" (washcloth) bath every day. If you have a girl you may want to get her lower half in some warm water sans soap to help clean out the vulva area.

It took FOREVER for my firsts cord to fall off, so I think she was a month before she got a real bath. Sometimes it was everyday, or numerous times a day because of all the spitting up.
