The issue is the bare legs. You shouldn't wear boots if you have bare legs.

You don't have to wait. You'll just look silly, that's all. Are you also wearing a wool scarf? A coat?

And nice dig- yes we are clearly all jealous rather than trying to help you. I have tall boots but won't be bringing them out until it is cooler.

In the meantime, I will be dusting off all of my tall boots for when the temperature drops. They are timeless don't you know.

Ankle boots? A silly trend that looks trashy and won't last. Watch and wait.

My rule of thumb: on my driving commute to work which spans much of downtown DC, if I see 5 women in the same day wearing boots, it is ok. I haven't seen that yet this year.
