Generally, yes - whittled into a point...

We use coleman stove and propane.

Can't really cook on just a fire.

Things that work with propane stove

- spaghetti
- macaroni and cheese
- hamburger helper
- chili
- sausages/hot dogs
- hamburgers

Best to do one dish type of meals.

Also I would let your husband pack if he is doing the cooking so he knows he has everything. It is all the extras that become a pain, just go with one pot dishes.

I don't know that you NEED 2 coolers - I've certainly never brought more than one, and we just spent the long weekend camping.

To go REI and pick up a bunch of freeze dried meals.

Get a hobo pie maker! Never heard of them until camping with my husband's family but they are really fun. They make awesome grilled cheese sandwiches, and also pies, obviously I know some people who make breakfast in them as well. Tons of recipes on the internet.

Dinners
Friday quesadilla packets, mac and cheese, peas
rice, bread and butter
Saturday steak with blue cheese & a-1, potato foil packets
corn on cob rice or macaroni noodles
Sunday brats, little weines
potato salad, baked beans, mac & cheese
rice or macaroni noodles

Man, that's a lot of starch.

So do you need to get one of these for each serving of food (one per person)?

Pizza pies! get the pie iron recommended by 1521 (these make individual servings of food), a loaf of white bread, pizza ingredients, and spreadable butter. Make a pizza sandwich. Heat the pie iron over the fire, put a bit of butter in each side (wait for it to melt), then put in the sandwich and cook it over the fire until it is however crispy the person to whom you're serving it usually likes their grilled cheese sandwiches. Instant hit.
