Agreed. We used the basic GE dishwasher our house came with for 11 years. We replaced it, not because it wasn't working, but because we were fed up with the lack of features and the layout of the dishwasher which didn't hold as much as it should (the racks were horrible). We replaced it with a Bosch 800 which we've had now for 5 years and it's still going strong with no signs of problems. I would be very upset if a dishwasher above the absolute cheapest available only lasted 5 years. In my last house, the Whirlpool dishwasher that the previous owner had installed lasted me about 8 years (and she had used it for several years before I bought the house). I replaced it with another Whirlpool mid-priced model that lasted the last 5 years I was in the house and it was in good condition when I sold the house. |
They are not inexpensive but my Miele dishwasher is 15 years old and going strong- not one repair, and it is used daily. The interior looks brand new, and I love the third rack for silverware. I would buy one again in a heartbeat. |
I have a GE. It's quiet amd sprays water like they all do. Then bakes the dishes dry. This isn't high tech stuff here. If it ever seems clogged, I pour in a cup of bleach and it's good. |
