We may just do it by email at this point. pathetic. no excuse. although she always has an excuse about why she didn't call back. reminds me of the kid who never does his homework so blames the dog for eating it.

Wow, you are right to terminate the contract with her lack of commitment.
WE have had to fire two agents in the past. It was our mistake to hire them as both a buyer's and seller's agent. They both were much more interested in getting us to sign a contract on a new home, and less interested in selling our small townhome.
They both became defensive and mad. If I had it to do over again, I would do it by email or not give specific feedback, just a general statement "it's not working for us" or something vague like that.

....and STILL no word from her. I think that we have to do the firing by phone however. email won't suffice as we are trying the break a contract - so we need to make sure that she is crystal clear that we are serious, that we've given it a lot of thought, we are done and we want a "release" not just from her but her whole brokerage firm.

we woud do it in person but the house is not in the area.

Surprised you were able to get out of it so easily. You must have been a peach to deal with yourself. Contracts are mutually binding in this area. Sounds like the agent was happy to cut you loose as well?

I think I mentioned quite a few times that the house is not in the DC area. but location doesn't matter. she was wiling to release us from it, smart on her part as we would have gone up the food chain and made a lot of noise.

And you're right, I was a real peach to deal with and I'm sure she was happy to get rid of us. I'm a pretty awful and an unreasonably demanding person.

as for the link to my house, I've seen what happens on DCUM when people post links to their house or even a strangers house.....no way. not going to happen.

Thank you DH and I feel reinvigorated and have a sense of control we didn't feel with this agent due to her lack of communication and lack of marketing efforts.

Talking with the new agent on Tuesday. If he can't sell our house, no one can. One interesting thing he said when we mentioned our concerned about losing precious time due to the time of year. In this particular city, according to the new agent, the last quarter of the year is actually the busiest so that made us feel better as well.
