Who do you think is right?

The difference in the casualty figures are because Israel does all she can to minimize her casualties -- safe rooms, bomb shelters, Iron Dome. Hamas, not so much. Rockets are launched from populated areas.

Oh, and the death toll would be very different if the IDF did not find a terror tunnel, according to Al Jazeera:

We do not know what would happen.

I would be much happier if this battle was not being waged, but being stronger does not make you wrong...just strong.

The video I posted above shows several multistory buildings being destroyed. That is not happening because Israel has no alternative. It is happening because Israel made the choice to destroy those buildings and kill anyone inside them. If the only weapons Israel has require entire neighborhoods to be flattened, Israel clearly has purchased the wrong weapons.

...from the U.S. With OUR tax dollars. Enough is enough! Disgusting that we are connected to this indiscriminate destruction in any way.

Children are innocent. Somebody has to care about them. Somebody has to protect them.

Seriously?! This is asinine.

I'm not the pp who wrote that children are innocent, but how is that asinine? That is the least asinine thing said here.

I agree with 23:17. Killing anyone is bad, but killing, or harming, or terrorizing kids in any way is really bad. It's pretty clear that the terrorist is Israel. Children are innocent. I can't help but wonder about the kids in Gaza and how traumatized they are by what they are seeing being done all around them. They will grow up to become angry adults. To answer the original question, Israel is wrong, Hamas is not Palestine---it's just an excuse for Israel to get the palestinian people out of what it perceives as its land.

ISRAEL ARE BARBARIANS AND WILL PAY THE ULTIMATE PRICE. NO DOUBT IN MY MIND. AT ONE TIME I SUPPORTED THEIR STAND FOR THEIR LAND. NO MORE.

The problem is one side is not protecting there children. They see what happens in the press. Let the palistinians kill a few israeli's like they want to.

The problem I have is that we are funding one group. I find it appalling. Both groups are wrong (Hamas v Israelis), but I expect much more from an "ally." And I am very tired of the Israelis claiming they are forced in to doing what they are doing. They are killing innocent children. No one is forcing them to do that.

Why is it that we cannot cut ties with Israel?

Israel is Americas only friend in the Middle East. It is also the only non third world type country over there. If there is any hope for the Middle East it lies with Israel.

Our discussions should not be how to divvy up the blame, but, as someone asked in another thread, how do they get from here to peace, or at least coexistence.

Why so easy to justify killing? Why doesn't that bother more people?

Then, ask yourself how to justify the killing of over 1,000 people, most of whom are civilians. You will hear a lot about who is to blame, but who is doing the killing?

It is not Hamas' fault that Iron Dome shoots down missiles. If it wasn't for Israel investing in that system, the killing would probably be equal.

Last time I checked, both sides are doing "the killing."

It would not be close to equal. Qassam rockets almost never hit their target, and they have very small explosives. Seriously, you could build one in your garage.

How about th 10,000 children who have been killed in Syria? Why are more people not upset by that?

This is asymmetric warfare. Israel is much stronger. But they are being attacked...by ineffectual weapons.

If Hama's strategic goal was to provoke Israel into killing civilians to change world opinion, they succeeded.
