Help me decide: to box or not box exposed water pipes underneath finished basement ceiling.

I have a similar basement and one day went into Vastu, the furniture place on 14th St in the District. They have a downstairs that looks like what you are describing and they don't try to hide it by boxing it in. They just painted it white to match the walls. I love it and did the same type of thing.

That's fine for commercial or 20 foot warehouse ceilings but ghetto for 7 foot ceilings
