Expectant and Postpartum Moms
| I have had two prenatal massages at Sugar House in Old Town and they were great. They do use the cut out belly table but can have you just on your side if you want. I didn't know the concerns about the cut out tables but I was fine and very comfortable. |
my prenatal/labor/postpartum massage text book called Prenatal Massage: A Textbook of Pregnancy, Labor, and Postpartum Bodywork by Elaine Stillerman. i also attended the midwifery today birth converence in 2008 where i attended many seminars on pregnancy and birth. they discussed similar information. you can check out www.midwiferytoday.com and search for miscarriage percentages. you can also ask your physician/OB/midwife for some information directly. they should be knowledgible of this information. another good resource is http://www.americanpregnancy.org/pregnancycomplications/miscarriage.html. hope this information helps! |
| Red Door DC is literally a block from my house and therefore I keep trying it in hopes that I will have a good experience. Luba is great for massages, and I believe she is the only one that is great. I've had several regular and pre-natal massages with her. I try to ignore the rest of the spa when I go to her. Totally off topic, but I went to get my eyebrows waxed once there with Gudy (sp?) and I kid you not she launched into a discussion about how Sarah Palin should have aborted her Downs Syndrome baby. All this during a 10 minute eyebrow wax, and I can assure you I did not say anything to bring that topic up or encourage it!! It was horrifying and I keep meaning to write a letter to management about that. |
