Abortion as economic stimulus

You should have seen my original post to the stoooopid pro-life poster. Jeff had to delete it. Enough said.

By your standards, the Pope is stupid too, and there are plenty of people who would dispute you. Abortion rights is a highly charged subject, and people on both sides if the argument have deeply held beliefs and convictions. Name calling is totally non-constructive.

The Pope is a wealthy man who lives in a palace far from the realities of life that third world mothers living in poverty face every day

Did Mother Teresa abandon her faith based opposition to abortion living among the world's most impoverished?

So we have gone from the Pope is pro-life and therefore stupid to the Pope is rich so he is stupid and pro-life? The logic escapes me.

Exactly. You have said enough ... and nothing, except to reveal that you are a jerk.

I am the original pro-life poster and I will have the record note that I have not made a post on this thread since my original one of 02/01/2009 23:01. Any other responses, criticisms, or spelling checks were not posted by me. (I am sure Jeff could confirm that if necessary.)

To clarify my post, my husband and his brother were born shortly before Roe and his 2 sisters were born after the decision. Although it may have been illegal in many states, abortion was an option prior to Roe, albeit a very restricted, inconvenient and risky option . My husband's birth mother still made a CHOICE - a choice that has given his adoptive parents a son they could not have had otherwise, me a wonderful husband and my children a fabulous father.

I knew full well what I was getting into when I made my post on this thread. The negative sentiment expressed by many of the PP's creates a climate on this board can be very intimidating and one-sided, to say the least. The lack of civility and respect is shocking. I believe the anonymous nature of this forum empowers posters like many of the above PP's to make statements that they otherwise would not if they had to take "ownership" for them. I am all for the presentation of different ideas and healthy debate, thus I entered this one, but name calling and profanity never serve to inspire people or change their minds.

It is still a fundamental part of our democratic society to debate and disagree, but how you make your point says much about your character and values. As Obama said during the campaign “words matter.” I couldn’t agree more!

That was them and that was then. They lived their life, let others live their own and make their own choices too.
To breed for charity is not enough for sainthood.

Exactly - I am in favor of countless unborn others being able to live THEIR own lives. Where is the choice for the unborn baby about to be aborted?

Wow - I don't think I have ever heard a statement that it is more demeaning and insulting to the entire adoption process as that. To characterize a mother who gives her child up for adoption like a dog breeding a litter for a puppy mill; and adoptive parents, who may be unable to conceive on their own, and the adopted child, like charity cases is just plain offense to all involved. Again I find the lack of civility and respect in this thread shocking.

You are obsessed.
You are also very biased. I think biased people do not have a right to tell others what to do
